HOW DOES IT WORK
International students can apply for a student visa if they are sixteen years or older and have been offered a place on a course by a licensed student sponsor. They must also have enough money to support themselves and pay for their studies. International students must be able to speak English, read, write, and understand it. They must also have consented from their parents if they are sixteen or seventeen years old.
To avail International Student Visa, which has replaced the Tier 4 (General) student visa, you have to apply at least 6 months before you start your course and you should receive a decision on your visa within 3 weeks.
Students are able to extend their visa if they are eligible. For example, if a student has switched to a student visa and wants to continue their studies in the UK, they can. They could also switch over to a Graduate visa, which will allow them at least 2 years after successfully completing their course in the UK.
